Affiliations:
Many of Julia's works are published by the Theodore Presser Music Publishing Company, King of Prussia,
Pennsylvania. Julia is a member of the American Society of Composers, Authors and Publishers (A.S.C.A.P.) and the
American Composers Forum. From 2000 to 2003, Julia was active in the Cultural Leadership Program at the
Conservatory Lab Charter School of Boston. She is a member of the first group of Pinnacle Scholars selected by the
American Psychological Association (her mentor is conductor Beatrice Affron) and a fellow of the Davidson Institute.
Julia is an honorary member of the board of the Wellesley Symphony. She served as the principal guest composer for
the Etowah Youth Symphony for the 2004 - 2005 season, a position funded by a grant from Honda Manufacturing of
Alabama.
In addition to the performance groups listed above, Julia, a sophomore at Harvard College, is an active member of the
college's Piano Society, an officer of the Contemporary Music Ensemble, Assistant Music Director of the Gilbert and
Sullivan Society, a board member of the Dunster House Opera Society, and board member and student assistant
music director of the Harvard Early Music Society. Julia is also a co-founder of Juventas Music, a consortium of young
Boston-based musicians dedicated to the promotion of contemporary works. In September, Julia became in the first
five students admitted to the newly created New England Conservatory - Harvard University combined degree
program, which will allow her to receive her undergraduate degree from Harvard in 2008 and her master's degree
from the New England Conservatory in 2009. She is studying at the New England Conservatory with Lee Hyla.
